The Money Tree
Native to the wetlands of Central and South America, the Money Tree is often seen as a symbol of prosperity and luck. With its braided trunk and glossy leaves, it’s a low-maintenance statement piece that thrives indoors and is believed to bring calm, balance, and growth into any space.
Your plant is already potted and self-watering — no repotting or soil changes needed.
Light
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Can tolerate medium light, but growth will slow. Avoid harsh direct sunlight — it can burn the leaves. Perfect for rooms with filtered daylight or next to a bright window.
Watering
Your pot is self-watering — simply check the water reservoir once a month and refill if empty. No top watering needed. The self-watering wick core delivers moisture gradually from below. Do not overfill the reservoir — this avoids stagnant water buildup.
Temperature
Prefers indoor temperatures between 18–28°C. Sensitive to cold drafts and sudden temperature changes. Keep away from air-conditioning vents or heaters.
Humidity
Enjoys moderate humidity. If your space is very dry, occasional misting or a nearby humidifier helps. Tropical conditions will support stronger growth.
Growth
Known for its braided trunk and palmate leaves. Grows slowly but steadily with proper care. Can grow taller over time — feel free to prune to maintain your desired size.
Pruning Tip
Trim off yellowing or dry leaves to promote new growth. You can also trim the top if it grows too tall for your space.
Pet Safety
Not pet-safe. Leaves may be mildly toxic if ingested. Place out of reach of pets and small children.
Fun Fact
Often gifted as a symbol of prosperity and good luck. Despite its name, the “money tree” doesn’t grow cash — but it’s said to bring wealth and positive energy to your home or workspace.
